Steven Hall was born in Derbyshire in 1975. His first novel, The Raw Shark Texts, won the Borders Original Voices Award, the Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award. The book has been translated into thirty languages.

Steven is the lead writer on the videogame Battlefield 1, and was also a writer on Nike’s World Cup short, The Last Game.

In 2013, he was named as one of Granta Magazine’s Best of Young British Novelists.
